Windows Early Access · Last checked September 28, 2026
World Apart’s Early Access starting point is the Qi Refining main story, with turn-based battles, cultivation choices, crafting and NPC relationships alongside it. Start by getting comfortable with that story and choose one small system goal at a time. You do not need to complete every achievement or rush into a higher realm to understand the opening game.
This guide covers Nuverse’s World Apart / 不问凡尘, Steam app 4209920. It does not cover Endzone or the older VR game with the same English name. The priorities below are a suggested learning order based on the official launch description, not a tested speedrun or a mandatory quest route.
Before your first session
- Check the language limitation. English interface and subtitles are listed, but the developer says localization remains incomplete. If an instruction is unclear, compare its context with the surrounding quest or system instead of treating an awkward translation as a hidden rule.
- Install the available updates. September 24 fixes addressed a specific extra-artifact save-loading problem. September 25 notes added fixes for scene blackouts and intermittent bugs.
- Set an appropriate goal. The launch announcement promises the complete Qi Refining storyline. Higher-realm achievements should not be read as a promise that every realm’s full story is already playable.
- Keep the correct official page handy. Search results for the title often mix in different games; check for Nuverse and app 4209920 before following technical advice.
A first-session checklist
| Your question | Useful first goal | What to avoid assuming |
|---|---|---|
| Where should I begin? | Follow the opening Qi Refining story until its systems are familiar. | A numbered chapter walkthrough from a different game applies here. |
| How do roots develop? | Watch one spiritual root’s progress; an official milestone is any root at 10. | 10 is a universal breakthrough requirement. |
| How do NPC relationships work? | Get to know one NPC and distinguish friendship from a Dao Companion bond. | A single gift or dialogue line guarantees romance. |
| What should I craft? | Learn the pill-refining and artifact systems separately. | The first pill and first artifact are the same objective. |
| Should I chase every system? | Pick one extra activity after you understand your current story objective. | Auctions, relationships and exploration must be completed in a fixed order. |
The official achievement list supplies concrete milestones: one NPC friend, any spiritual root reaching 10, a first successful pill and a first crafted artifact. These are useful ways to recognize progress. They are not a complete tutorial, and an achievement does not tell you where its relevant menu or NPC is located.
Pick a cultivation direction without chasing a made-up meta
The developer describes ten cultivation paths and gives examples including righteous, demonic and rogue cultivation. It also describes sect membership, social bonds and outlaw behavior as different ways to shape your journey. The available official material does not provide a complete ten-path comparison with exact bonuses.
Choose based on the kind of story and interactions you want to explore. If you want a competitive damage comparison, wait for a reproducible current-build test. A path sounding powerful in its description is not enough to label it the strongest. The world is described as remembering your actions and moral choices, so treat a dramatic roleplaying choice as something worth reading carefully.
Understand NPC dialogue and its limits
NPC conversations can involve typed dialogue, persuasion, items and story interactions. The launch announcement also explains a practical limit: the included AI dialogue allowance is finite. When it runs out, NPCs fall back to fixed dialogue, and the developer says main-story progression continues.
That means an exhausted allowance should not automatically be treated as a deleted character or a blocked main story. Check what the game actually displays. Avoid posting private API credentials when asking for help with custom dialogue integrations. The site does not offer an API setup guide because the exact supported configuration has not been verified here.
Crafting and exploration are separate learning goals
Alchemy is described as depending on your actions rather than memorizing a rigid recipe list. Artifact crafting uses gathered materials. Those descriptions confirm the systems; they do not establish ingredient ratios, timing windows or guaranteed outcomes.
For a first attempt, read the in-game instructions and observe the result before spending more resources. Keep notes about what you tried if you want to reproduce it. Do not apply a recipe from another cultivation game just because its terminology looks similar.
Secret-realm treasure hunting is available, but this guide does not provide unverified map entrances or loot routes. If you are pursuing extraction-related achievements, read the exact condition instead of assuming that simply entering a realm is sufficient.
If progression seems to stop
First identify the type of problem. A save that will not load belongs to troubleshooting. An untranslated objective belongs to language/status checking. A higher-realm content boundary belongs to the Early Access roadmap. These are different problems and should not all be “fixed” by starting over.
For technical reports, record the current objective, the last action before the issue, any visible error and whether a save still loads. The developer asks players to include reproduction steps, screenshots or recordings and save status. Use the official support channels linked from Steam; this guide site does not need your Steam credentials.
Choose your next guide
Use the achievement checklist to select a measurable goal, the spiritual-root page to distinguish its thresholds, and the realm overview before assuming a future progression stage is available. You can return to the main story between these activities; the official description emphasizes an open pace rather than a mandatory sequence for every optional system.
